my first wife--a born in, shuns her d/f son. but it got him and i back together. hes a great bloke--lovely wife--a 3 year old son..own business--great lifestyle with loads of friends.

so--its her loss. but then she is just a control freak.

yesterday i drove passed a town a couple of hours from my home and saw this kh under construction.

this is the first new design kh i've seen in washington state even though i would think by now another one or two have been built.

maybe not with their financial situation being the way it is.

has anyone been able to verify that fred franz received the minimal training in ancient greek that he claimed gave him the expertise to translate the bible?

you would think that would be fairly easy to verify or disprove in this day and age.

Jehovah's Witnesses: shame and domination

i want to suggest something that i've been ruminating on for a while now.

that involves the possibility that when jehovah's witnesses look for "sheep-like ones" what they're actually looking for is this: those who will allow themselves to be dominated (get rid of things that god "hates," accept the movement's beliefs without protest, not check into the movement's history) and those who are willing to be shamed (letting jehovah's witnesses into their homes when doing so is looked down upon in secular society, talking with them on the street when everyone else avoids them).. i say this because from what i observed at the kingdom halls i attended in the course of gathering data for my research i saw:.

-frequent shaming: jehovah's witnesses must do more to be acceptable to god, they are "good for nothing slaves," they are spared through armageddon by jehovah's "undeserved kindness," etc.

this is bigger than christmas and birthdays wrap into one.

thanks to the australian royal commission our youngest son has woke up.

we received a e-mail from him tonight where he apologized to us for shunning us all these years, how bad he felt for doing this.

i can well imagine how you feel ADD.

i had no contact from my born in kids for many years--then in recent years i found out my older son had been d/f. i found him through facebook--and gradually, with the help of his new non jw girlfriend, we developed an online father / son relationship.

i was invited to their wedding in 2013, now they have a lovely boy, now aged 3...my first grandchild i got to hold, out of about 8 who ive not met.

there is life after the watchtower cult makes you free.

Will The Governing Body's Shunning Policy Backfire On Them Eventually?

we all can agree that the disfellowshipping arrangement benefits the wt corporation by keeping the indoctrinated in servitude, make members afraid to doubt the corporation's teachings and explanations because they can be disfellowshipped for saying anything negative about the corporation or it's ceos or not agreeing with some new light.. but what about negative effects caused by the harsh use of disfellowshipping to the corporation, what could they be?

it's a two edged sword..

seems a very sick cult that controls its members by threat of shunning. i can understand thosewide awake dubs that go along with it or risk losing wife, kids, home--in fact all theyve got.

happened to me.

i know i'll never live long enough to see the whole damn thing collapse--but it would be very good to see a lot more leave.
